Privacy Policy

At WireLang™, user privacy is our core foundation. This Privacy Policy describes how the WireLang™ Live extension and our website collect, use, and process your data.

1. Active Tab Audio Processing

The core function of the WireLang™ Live extension is to capture audio output from your active browser tab and translate it live.

• Transient Processing: Captured tab audio is processed purely in local memory (via Chrome's Web Audio API) and streamed over a secure WebSocket directly to our live translation proxy servers.
• No Recording or Storage: We do not record, save, or write any audio data to persistent storage. Once the translation is spoken back to you, the audio bytes are immediately discarded from memory.
• User-Initiated: Audio capture only starts when you explicitly select a translation target and click Start Translating. It stops instantly when you close the popup, close the tab, or click Stop.

2. Personally Identifiable Information

We use Google Sign-In (OAuth2) to authenticate your access to our backend API:

• Identity Data: We access your basic Google profile information (email address and display name) upon login to authenticate your session and link your account to your Firebase Authentication profile.
• Purpose: This information is used solely to keep track of your demo credit balance, log translation session usage logs, and handle transaction histories for top-ups. We do not share, sell, or rent your email address or personal identity to third parties.

3. Local Storage and Preferences

The extension requests the storage permission to enhance your configuration settings:

• Local Preferences: We store your preferred settings (default target language, favorite voice, overlay ducking volume level) locally in your browser so you do not have to select them every time you open the extension.
• Optional Google AI Studio API Key (BYO): If you choose to use the "Bring Your Own Key" (BYO) option, your API key is encrypted locally on your machine using AES-256-GCM. It is transmitted securely over TLS to verify request limits and is never stored in plain text or returned to any dashboard.

4. Third-Party Services

We leverage secure, industry-leading sub-processors to run our application:

• Google Cloud & Firebase: Used for secure authentication, hosting, and data management.
• Stripe: Used to process all payment transactions. We never see, store, or receive your credit card details or bank credentials.
• Fly.io: Hosts our WebSocket translation proxy routers and API servers under secure, TLS-encrypted tunnels.

5. Disclosures & Certifications

In compliance with Google Web Store guidelines, we certify that:

• We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties.
• We do not use user data for advertising, remarketing, or profiling purposes.
• We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for any lending decisions.
