How can we help?
Getting started, billing, and fixes for the most common questions. Still stuck? Contact us.
Getting started
1. Install & sign in
Download the desktop app for Windows 10/11 or macOS 13+, open it, and sign in with Google (or Apple on macOS). New accounts get free trial minutes to start translating right away. Full walkthrough in our tutorial.
2. Pick a language & play audio
Choose your target language, then play any audio on your computer — a stream, a course, a call. WireLang™ translates the system audio live.
3. Go Pro or top up
Subscribe to a Pro plan for monthly translation hours (unused hours roll over), or buy a one-time credit pack that never expires. You only pay for the minutes you use — see Pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Billing, credits & subscriptions
How does pricing work?
There are two ways to pay. Pro subscriptions (monthly or annual) include translation hours every billing cycle, unused hours roll over 100% and never expire, and unlimited Bring-Your-Own-Key mode is included. Or buy a one-time pay-as-you-go credit pack — no subscription, and credits never expire. Either way, time is deducted only for the seconds you're actively translating. See Pricing for current plans.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
You can cancel anytime, and your first purchase — subscription or credit pack — is covered by a 3-day (72-hour) money-back guarantee. Inside the app go to Settings → Billing → “Request Refund & Unsubscribe”; the button is visible whenever you're inside the window. Refunds go back to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days. Full details in the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
I bought credits but don’t see them yet.
Payment confirmation can take a few seconds. The app refreshes your balance automatically after checkout — or tap the small refresh icon next to your balance. If it still doesn't appear after a minute, contact us.
What happens when my time runs out mid-session?
Translation stops when your balance reaches zero — you're never charged beyond the seconds you actually used. Top up a credit pack or subscribe, and start a new session to continue. On a Pro plan, any hours you don't use in a cycle roll over to the next one.
Can I use my own API key (BYO)?
Yes. With Bring-Your-Own-Key you connect your own Gemini API key and translation runs through your Google account at no charge from us. Note that in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland your key must belong to a billing-enabled Google Cloud project (Google doesn't allow free-tier keys there), and a BYO key does not lift regional availability restrictions. Setup steps in the BYO guide.
Troubleshooting
The app says microphone access is blocked.
WireLang™ translates the audio your computer plays, not your voice — but both Windows and macOS route that capture through a privacy permission, so it must be granted once. On Windows: open Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone, turn microphone access ON, and make sure “WireLang Live” (and desktop apps in general) are allowed. On macOS: open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording (called “Screen Recording” on older versions), toggle WireLang ON, then relaunch the app.
Translation won’t start or audio is silent.
First check that audio is actually playing on your computer, and that capture permission is granted (see the question above). Restarting the app resolves most one-off glitches. If the problem persists, send us the details via Contact and we'll help.
The session won’t connect, or drops mid-translation.
Live translation needs a stable internet connection. Check your connection, and if you're behind a VPN, proxy, or strict firewall, try disabling it or allowing WireLang™ through. Then stop and start the session again — you're not charged while disconnected. If it keeps happening, contact us from your account email so we can check your session logs.
It says WireLang™ isn’t available in my region.
WireLang™ is powered by Google's Gemini Live API, which isn't available in a small number of countries — the app shows a notice if you're in one of them. Unfortunately using your own API key (BYO) doesn't bypass this, as the restriction is on Google's side. Availability changes over time, so contact us if you'd like an update for your country.
Languages, platforms & account
Which languages are supported?
60+ languages for real-time speech-to-speech translation. Pick your target language from the dropdown in the app.
Which platforms does WireLang™ run on?
The desktop app runs on Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon & Intel). Sign in with Google on Windows; on macOS you can use Google or Apple. Your balance is tied to your account, so you can sign in on any computer and your credits follow you.
Is my audio private?
Your audio is processed live by Google's Gemini API to produce the translation — WireLang™ servers never record or store it. The desktop app can save session history (transcripts, and optionally audio) on your device only; it's never uploaded and you can turn it off or delete sessions anytime in Settings. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Email support@wirelang.com from your account address and we'll delete your account and associated data. Saved BYO keys can also be removed anytime from inside the app, which deletes them from your account immediately.
