What's New in WireLang™

High-level updates and bug fixes for the WireLang™ desktop applications.

Version 1.4.1 · September 2026

Latest

🏁 Desktop Apps (Windows & macOS)

  • Translation That Doesn't Stop: Live sessions renew their connection roughly every 10 minutes — WireLang now brings the next connection up while the current one is still translating and hands over between sentences. Translation keeps flowing through the switch: no pause, no lost words, nothing skipped or replayed.
  • Smooth Voice Hand-off: The translated voice crossfades between connections, so renewals sound like a natural transition instead of an interruption — and subtitles stay on screen through the switch.
  • Faster Translations Everywhere: Tuned speech detection starts translating each phrase sooner, lowering delay throughout the whole session.
  • Self-Correcting Delay: If translation ever falls behind — a network hiccup, a busy machine — playback gently speeds up until it has caught up, so lag never piles up over a long session.
  • Full Keyboard & Screen-Reader Access: A new shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+T / ⌥⌘T) moves keyboard focus into the session toolbar; Settings, session history, the recap player, captions, and dialogs all carry proper roles and labels; Windows High Contrast and macOS Increase Contrast render correctly with visible focus outlines.
  • Feedback & Survey Built In: Send feedback directly from Settings — optionally attaching your diagnostic log — plus an in-app survey so we can keep improving what matters to you.
  • Reliability Fixes: Fixed a retry loop that could leave translation stuck with a "Too many requests" message; Stop and Pause now always take effect immediately; improved usage-metering accuracy across long sessions; fixed the end-of-session save dialog appearing cut off and the main window occasionally closing itself mid-session.
  • Signed & Notarized Installers: The macOS app (`WireLang-Live-1.4.1.dmg`) is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized; the Windows installer (`WireLang Live Setup 1.4.1.exe`) is signed via Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing.

🏁 Desktop Apps (Windows & macOS)

  • Global Start/Stop Shortcut: Start or stop translation from anywhere with ⌥⌘W on Mac or Ctrl+Alt+W on Windows — no need to open the app first. The shortcut is shown right under the Start button.
  • No Lost Words on Reconnect: Audio is now buffered during brief network hiccups and replayed when the connection returns, so sentences no longer get cut off mid-stream.
  • More Accurate Session Metering: Session time is measured more precisely end to end, so your credit balance reflects exactly what was translated — including across reconnects.
  • Accessibility Improvements: Status changes, billing notices, and alerts are now announced to screen readers; keyboard navigation gets visible focus outlines; and plan selection works as proper radio controls.
  • Capture Self-Healing: Stalled system-audio captures are detected and recovered automatically instead of silently producing empty sessions.
  • 18+ & Terms Confirmation: A one-time checkbox at sign-in confirms you're 18 or older and accept the Terms of Service. It's saved to your account, so you're never asked again — on any device.
  • Signed & Notarized Installers: The macOS app (`WireLang-Live-1.4.0.dmg`) is Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized; the Windows installer (`WireLang Live Setup 1.4.0.exe`) is signed via Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing.

🏁 Windows Desktop App

  • Fallback Start Translation on Permission Warn/Fail: Configured the app to proceed with starting the translation pipeline even if the local microphone permission prompt fails or is rejected. Previous

🏁 Windows Desktop App

  • Fixed Sandboxed Windows Store Microphone Permission Block: Integrated Electron session permission request and check handlers in the main process to allow media access queries. 🏁 Windows Desktop App

  • Fixed Audio Translation Loop: Addressed a bug where the translated voice played back from your speakers would loop back into the audio capturer and get translated again in an infinite loop. We now use a native process-excluded capture system.
  • Capture Volume Boost: Added an audio pre-gain boost stage to automatically boost quiet background/original video audio, so translation remains accurate even if you lower the video volume.

🍏 macOS Desktop App

  • Fixed Audio Translation Loop: Switched system audio capture to a native macOS helper utilizing ScreenCaptureKit to prevent echo feedback loops by excluding the Electron app.
  • Capture Volume Boost: Added the same digital gain boost stage to automatically restore quiet background audio signals for the AI translator.
